Member of a Population: This is the default for objects created as part of creating a population. If you choose this option for objects that are part of a population the population instances will still render but the object itself will also show up at its original position. Individual Object: This is the default for objects created individually, not part of a population.

SMALL HI RESOLUTION ROCK UV TERRAGEN PORTABLE

I think I just went down a deep deep rabbit hole! Finding a small high resolution portable laser projector (even without battery) and is available from Amazon for international shipping or available locally without an exhorbitant surcharge is icky.

Its why I figure I would need to 'project' from a Surface/notebook to one assuming that works (projecting from Windows to tvs seems very hit and miss in my experience) and if projecting doesn't work, more.wire. Oddly, it seems a lot of these things have Netflix compatible app problems which is a shame as that is the only streaming service we have worth a damn locally. Its why I can envision wires regardless (power at a minimum).

I am going to wager though that all these battery versions are not great - either dim on battery or the battery won't last a full movie or basically a couple years out the battery is in the tank. Sadly, the probably more practical for my movies on the roof/take on a road trip use is the Capsule 3 which is unavailable at Amazon and locally one can only get the lower resolution version 2. No battery mind you - I do love how their home page is tieing it to a Anker PowerHouse which is 5x the size so you can run it off a 'battery' hehe. Oooof, yea, I am sure that Cosmos looks great at 2k. Sadly, xgimi is not available at Amazon so the 720 usd USA price is 1050 locally vs 550 for the Wemax which puts a big artificial local 'tax' on that unit. Hmmm, not having a budget per se, gonna need to keep looking/considering. Watching some comp videos of the xgimi and wemax - video quality and colors look better on the Halo. I will have to look at the others as well so thanks for the heads up. I looked at the EF11 and EF12 Fingolfin - the 11 is better for size but no autofocus being the biggest difference. Its very annoying with my Espon having a dark movie scene up but having the whole perimeter of the screen still dimly lit. What I can't quite tell from reviews is the light bleed issue (and whether laser is better than dlp). That said, Amazon has the Wemax Dice for 550 bucks (which is similar for lumens apparently) and is battery powered and also dlp and same resolution - dang if that doesn't seem like a deal (locally I can source its no name equivalent ForMovie for about 650 bucks). I can source that locally but they run 1000 usd. It won on the picture quality front (as well as battery) but isn't laser. I watched a 2022/23 roundup video on Youtube and the 'winner' was a Xgimi Halo (plus maybe). I know my older Epson is just 'muddy' looking - I believe that is due to the low resolution. Having done a bit more digging, I am trying to get my head around dlp vs laser. Quick/smart screen adjustment (autofocus, auto keystone type stuff would be great) and no massive light bleed to the periphery also would be a very solid plus.Īnyone have any experience with these things?

Sound not necessary as I would prefer my full sized bluetooth speaker over anything that would fit inside a small laser projector unit. What I am thinking would be nice is a full 2 hour charge capable device (that can also be powered by AC or better still somehow a usb battery pack), better than 1280x800 resolution and capable of being projected to by either a notebook or Surface style device (so that I can use my own browser for content or VLC player with my own movies). Another option I came across is Xgimi Halo+ which is 900 ansi lumens but they are not available anywhere (actually edit, can find locally but it isn't a laser projector I don't think although maybe given the reviews that isn't the b all and end all?). I have seen specs for a 'WeMax' which is 700 ansi lumens but apparently its battery life isn't even 2 hours (aka not even a full movie on a charge). I saw a Samsung Freestyle in action and thought, oh that is nice looking and sharp/clear but the real brightness is questionable (it is probably 250 ansi lumens, my 730hd is 3000). The light bleed is pretty bad on the periphery of the screen I use and the resolution is meh even at its best focus. I have an old'ish Epson 730hd projector - aka the size of a toaster cut in half on its side, 1280x800 pixels, loud for fan noise/heat and clunky to set up.
